The game is almost perfect right now, there is barely anything wrong, any skill update is very likely to make the game worse, just like most of the skillupdates in the past did. Of course there's room for improvement but don't count on it.
On RtW and rangers: Over a year ago a turret ranger was something unheard of (unless you count the quickshot era) noone ever ran one. I had this awesome turretbuild for AB. Then izzy had his retardspasms again and he decided turrets are gud. He buffed a lot of attacks to 1s activation time. Later on he nerfed some of them again but instead of nerfing them properly back to their old state, he nerfed them to destruction, screwing over a lot of players. Now i can never play my supercool AB ranger build again. My point: Just nerf the ranger skills back to what they USED to be. Old penetrating, old huntershot, old burning arrow.

Guild Wars has been dumbed down alot.
You almost never see a mesmer play a mesmer anymore because... well that was just too hard to be a good mesmer, it required someone to think.. its easier to run Me/E or N and spam stupid shit.
Turret rangers are shit tons of damage from range... another stupid idea. I guess running a cripshot ranger was too hard. "OMG i no see big numbers for domage!!!11! WTF!?!1?" Now they have great survivability, good utility, and crazy damage by spamming BA/Mels and hunters shot and whatever interupt they feel like throwing up in a prayer when they recharge.
Primal Rage... I personally like the skill but seriously.. its warrior made easy.
Anything that can be awesome at defense and offense at the same time is broken. There is no risk anymore. No offense oriented hoping that the overload in offense will make up for the lack of defense... no super defense and hope for the defense will make up for the lack of offense.. no in between where your ok at both and hope that will make up for the lack of strength in either. What it is: lets be super defensive and super offensive and hope we can 1 2 3 better than the other team.
I know I know.. you all want to have "fun" I mean who wants to put any thought in to winning. Why not have broken shit so you can be a half step from down syndrome and win.

1. go play some pvp and experience a bit
2. in todays meta its really harder to concentrate and pay attention than in later metas, the game hasnt been dumbed down... for me/e its not just to spam water skill like an idiot (okay maybe under 500 it is...), for turret ranger its not just spike but also interrupting key skills (aegis, humility, div-shame, sometimes monk elites and others..), not only interruption makes the game more thoughtful...
3. and no its not all about 3 2 1 spikes go experience a bit, and when you are done come back

the fast activation ranger attacks should just been given aftercast. after all, ranger interrupts have aftercast to prevent players from firing them off all at once, kind of like how turret rangers are played right now.
a better method for both ranger interrupts and fast activating skills, is to remove all aftercast and give them a "disables all other attack skills for 1 second", kind of like how shadow walk is. that way, at least it gives the rangers the option of moving, instead of being a sitting duck for the duration of aftercast.

you sound like someone who doesn't play much GvG if any but tries to sound [email protected] by repeating what you believe to be the opinion of top players (or, more likely, bad players who you mistakenly think are good because they're doing the same thing you're doing to try to sound good and you just don't realize it because they're doing it slightly better than you; in this way these chains of misinformation spread quickly) except what you didn't realize is that you don't fully understand what they said due to lack of experience so when you try to repeat it you get it wrong and make yourself look like a carebear posing as a shitter posing as a GvGer with zomgtop500 experience. am i close?

In the case of interrupts a better solution imo would be to be a penalty for spamming. Say distracting and savage got a 20 second recharge for missing an interrupt but a 5 second recharge for a successful interrupt. This would reward skillful play , but make a spammer think twice and punish degenerate play without destroying the skills.

nah, this isn't about who can interrupt what, but purely for damage compression.
once upon a time, ranger interrupts had no aftercast. people would run dual shot, a prep, and every interrupt available and machinegun people down. aftercast was added so people couldn't do this. the only exception at that time was quickshot, which is elite. after all, with every other fast cast bow attacks having an aftercast, it didn't matter whether quickshot had it or not since people couldn't chain it anymore.
then other bow attacks with fast activation were added, first with needling shot and now with these attacks. since they all had the 1s cast of quickshot, none of them have aftercast also.

I never said it was dumped down.. I said dumbed... so I can see how you would be confused.
No its not all 3 2 1 spikes but its what it mostly consists of to get kills, pressure is pretty much non existent as far as a "threat" goes.
Its harder to concentrate and pay attention cause it has been dumbed down.
There is NO WAY you can say playing a Me/E is harder or takes more skill than playing a real mesmer. And Me/N is just making use of broken shit.. no skill there, or do you think it takes skill to use necro hexes?
And turret rangers do exacly what I said: spam skills on recharge for spike, yes it takes some skill to interupt key skills.. I never said it didnt, but thats how its ALWAYS been. My point is you dont have to be as skilled to play a ranger anymore (when it comes to anything but interupting key skills) cause of insane damage; just BA->Hunters->Savage, and save your d-shot for interupts. "yay I just did shit tons of damage with in 2 seconds from range!!1!"
My points still stand, I dont understand why you needed to come in here acting like your Mr Bigshot telling me to go PvP when you damn well know my points are valid... go ahead and defend your shit meta, because after all thats probably why you even GvG now and can succeed, cause its been dumbed down to your level.

an aftercast wouldnt make a difference to damage compression tbh, polly himself said that he expects the ranger to just go burning->hunters on the spike so the aftercast wouldnt really mean anything
a better idea would be to make the activation times go away, nerf flail, and change read the wind to not affect the arc of the bow

Why? this is the coolest part of the build and a keypoint of every single ranger damage build in the game. The pressure from the ranger isn't a problem at all, it's just the spike. All you have to do is nerf the activation time and shit's fine.

i have only played axe warrior in gvg 1 time since primal rage got buffed, and it was tough to get used to the speed of it, this is partly me not playing axe warrior for so long though, and partly me not being used to the constant speed. you have to do less stuff with canceling but you have to look for targets faster

Firstly he is correct about Primal Rage.
Secondly Turret Rangers are broken. Kaon may have pointed out his mistake was not read the wind but the fact that the problem lies in the 1 second attack activation. Being able to tell something is broken is easier than telling exactly why. I would suspect we would need a mammoth of a post by ensign about exactly why the game is so broken.
Thirdly It may not be evident to you but it is evident to me that this lad laments the loss of the domination mesmer rather than just a fast cast hexer (whether water or curses) which adds a third layer to guildwars. You do see this template but only occasionally.
Fourthly the hexers in the meta now are both very powerful at offence and defence. Specifically at spiking + defence or rape party healing(and woh) + defence.
This game was destroyed by nightfall power creep. And currently buffing skills like Primal Rage and Lingering Curse as two examples just shows that Izzy and Arenanet never really got it when it comes to PVP in this game.
There was only two periods of maybe 2-3 months each where this game was really really awesome. That was the 2-3 months before factions release and 2-3 months around nightfall release before it took the community to leave in droves because they realized how bad nightfall was.
EDIT: OBVIOUSLY THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE ARMOR BONUS IN PROTECTIVE WAS KAOLAI HOW COULD WE MISS THIS BEFORE.

They say every update has to have one random "WTF?" And there you have it. A pop-and-drop skill used by a flagger half the map away now has a smaller armor buff. And I can't really see it hurting Caretaker Rits much. 14 less armor probably won't make-or-break that build.

I'd say a caster with 94 AL is quite a problem, of course this was nowhere near the biggest issue I have with PwK.

The sad thing is that I would complain about it in a game which was in good shape. Personally I think that there are other skills that are a little out of shape but its a waste of time even considering them and IMO fixing PwK slightly with the game in this shape makes me wonder what the hell is in Izzys mind.
If you are able to see a need to balance a skill like that in a meta like this after buffing stuff like primal rage, well I want to have the stuff he is on.
My personal benchmark for knowing the game is in good shape is that akaraxle could once again point out that Dshot needs looking at.
